Traditional Burial

What could be considered a "Traditional" service, this involves a ceremony at a local church or chapel presided over by a religious figure, followed by a burial at a graveyard or cemetery and a wake afterwards.

As part of our Traditional Burial:

Pre-Funeral

  • We’ll remove your loved one into our care, whereupon they will be prepared and cared for at our funeral home.

  • Our funeral director will sit down with you to discuss the specifics of your service, including selecting any music or hymns, arranging funeral notices and Orders of Services, and any other features you wish to include.

  • A visit to see your loved one at our private resting room can be arranged.

  • All the necessary paperwork and arrangements for the funeral service will be completed by our staff, including liaising with third parties such as the cemetery, minister, florist and the venue of the wake.

Day of Funeral

  • The funeral cortege will carry your loved one from their place of rest to the family home, and then on to the place of service.

  • Our funeral director will then guide you through the service, showing you to and from your seats, and ensuring everything runs as smoothly as possible.

  • After the funeral, the funeral cortege will continue to the cemetery for the committal service.

  • Finally, the family will be driven to the location of the wake.

In the Coming Days

  • Our funeral director will carry out a welfare visit to you, to return the floral cards from the service and offer any assistance or advice that they can.
